某银行话务员邓丽嫦（何超仪 饰）自幼生长在一个平民家庭，她始终有一个情结，那就是努力赚钱买一套可以看得见大海的房子。为了这个目标，阿嫦努力工作，下班后还干着两份兼职，甚至和同事利用职务之便聚敛外快。眼看就要存够豪华大厦维多利亚一号的首付，但是偏偏赶上楼市疯涨的时候，签合同当天房主反悔，宁可赔付违约金也不愿按原价出售。为了房子而不懈努力的阿嫦遭受巨大打击，在万圣节前夜，这个几近崩溃的女子带着一身杀意走进了维多利亚一号…… 本片在香港上映时被评为三级片，港三正版DVD发行时正片删掉5分钟左右过激镜头，被删镜头以花絮形式附录DVD中。

But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present. Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
